During paramedic school on her track to become a firefighter, Blu had next to no time to focus on herself. When she took the plunge to try out a yoga class for the first time, she was instantly hooked on the stillness and peacefulness it brought to her heart. She jumped into yoga teacher training, but was struck by a remark from her cousins who felt uncomfortable as the only Black people in class. That’s when Blu decided to do something about it. After completing her training, she launched InoarG, an all-inclusive yoga studio in Cincinnati where all are welcome, regardless of body shape or skin color. She wanted folks to feel comfortable and safe as their authentic selves – frizzy hair, stomach rolls and all. Navigating her business journey (and managing the launch of a second endeavor, a fitness apparel line), Blu learned the importance of building an online presence, utilizing GoDaddy’s Website Builder and marketing tools to get the word out about her studio. More than just teaching poses, Blu has created a space where all people can come as they are and walk out feeling a little bit better than when they came in.
